目前在香港反送中現場聲稱要做“公正”報道的中國官方喉舌《環球時報》主編胡錫進周一晚間發推文譴責路透社有關林鄭有意辭職的報道是將新聞報道作為煙幕彈製造北京與香港之間的分歧，並且批評路透社在香港議題上帶有政治傾向。胡錫進上述言論引發推客炮轟。
